Down In Dixie 2

Hi Sailor and all! Tis dixie. LO and I recently posted a set of photos that were taken during a nature walk. These pics were shot the same day at an old southern homestead/tourist site. Luckily for us, no one was around and a couple of the rooms had been left open. I truly love this place. It reminds me of my childhood and homes owned by my maternal grandparents and stepgrandparents - all now gone. I can still vividly recall bathing in a washtub as a , sleeping on a very comfortable feather mattress which was covered with a homemade quilt and sunning on the porch. During the wintertime, the wooden floors made getting out of bed hard because they were so cold. Although there are still a few homes such as these around, they are very few and far between. Such is the way of progress I suppose.
