#P11446- Martipics for contest Kate and Crew, I have been a regular daily visitor to your pages for well over a year or so now (remember the first chat room??) and decided it was time to contribute something back. My wife of 5 years (been together for 12) Marti (32 in these pics) and I love your comments on the contris and are looking forward to seeing what you have to say about her pics. These pics do not do her justice and we are just starting out so we will improve over time. Kate1 would not hurt as a start, heh? BTW, I urge anyone who reads this to support the VW in any way possible. It is extraordinary how far you have come from that underground site of not too long ago. Congratulations, and a million thanks to all that made it possible. I am curious, just how many people will see these pics based on your daily traffic and how much it costs to keep the site going? Damon: ..well..first of all thanks for your letter....very informative.....and thanks for your support...you were asking about money..well...I think the major problem is not the money itself, but to find a way, to run all this installation without getting a total commercial site on one hand, and without getting bancrupt at the other hand....the correct balance is the major challenge...in fact it was very easy to find a good balance, when we had only one server, one T1 and fixed costs of a few thousand dollars a month...right now its much much different...we need to run several T3 lines...and server clusters and backup machines and and and...the instrument we use to balance the revenue are the little advertisment banners, which we put up from time to time...if we notice, that we are hoing to have more costs than income from redclouds and the archive, we add advertisement...as soon as we notice, that we are in line again, we remove the advertisement...this is why I say, we are not profitt oriented...otherwise we would add much banners as possible...anyhow...the new site however is different..the new site has beed designed to stand on its own feet from the first day on....its not going to be another finance instrument for the voyeurweb...and it will be able the balance the new site, because we will not have a growing traffic as long as we keep the number of members constant...so...that site is going to use its income for its own costs...and thats it...not very american..I know...but if we woud start to run our business the true american way of commerce, we would loose something very very valuable....the loyal voyeurweb community...a very critical, intellectual and intelligent community....very good friends.....true, eh?....so...enough said....
